These Gluten Free Chicken Tacos are the perfect everyday meal, easy to make, full of flavours and with the spiceΒ of homemade gluten free taco seasoning!
I am sure every where in the world this question is asked everyday...'Whats for dinner?' and then everyone stands around waiting for that inspiration!
Well... when the inspiration doesn't come, there are a few stand out recipes or fall back dinners that many people make. Pasta, sausages, stir-fry and of course... Tacos!
Tacos are a great dinner idea because not only do they taste delicious, they are the fun way for everyone in your home to make and create their own dinner.
Simply line up all the ingredients and each person can 'custom design'Β their own tacos!
Tacos can be made with all sorts of fillings and to add a bit of variety rather than just using beef, we mix it around by using chicken or even going vegetarian and using a variety of beans and tomatoes.
To create the gluten free chicken tacos, we use our homemade gluten free taco seasoning!
The best part to making the taco seasoning at home is that you can make it as spicy as you like.... and it is gluten free!
How To Make Gluten Free Chicken TacosΒ
You will need...
- 500 grams of chicken mince
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 onion - diced
- Β½ teaspoon of minced garlic
- 3 heaped teaspoons of our Homemade Gluten Free Taco Seasoning
- Β½ teaspoonΒ Β salt
- Β½ teaspoonΒ black pepper
- 1 cup of chicken stock - gluten free
- black beans - drained and rinsed
For the Chicken Tacos, you will also need:
- 15 gluten free taco shells - soft or hard
Toppings
- grated cheese
- diced tomatoes
- sliced avocado
- guacamole
- coriander
- shredded lettuce or sliced spinach leaves
- sour cream
- salsa
- ...anything you like!!
The steps...
- In a frypan, add in the olive oil and onion and heat on a medium heat until the onion starts to cook.
- Add in the minced garlic and chicken mince.
- Add in 3 heaped teaspoons of Β Homemade Gluten Free Taco Seasoning, salt and pepper and stir through the chicken mince. Cook the chicken just till it turns white.
- Add in the gluten free chicken stock and bring to the boil and then simmer.
- While it is simmering add in the black beans. (Drain and rinse them first.)
- Cook till the chicken is cooked through and there is no more liquid left.
- Then place it in a bowl and line up with the other bowls of fresh ingredients and let everyone create their own tasty tacos!
