Sometimes on a Sunday morning you don't need the fuss of preparing a full breakfast. Maybe something quick, that is refreshing but also has the little hint of spice, that makes it that something extra special.
This Easy Chai Spiced Banana Smoothie is just the thing!
Sometimes you just need a change from the everyday smoothie roundabout... something that is creamy - (without the cream), filling and with a little hint of warming spice flavour.
The bonus of this recipe is that it is vegan, gluten free, easy to make and oh! so delicious! π
There are a couple of tips that make this a go-to smoothie for breakfast or snack, easy and delicious.
Tips to making Easy Chai Spiced Banana Smoothie
Frozen Banana
Use frozen bananas like you would ice cubes.
Keep some bananas sliced in the freezer, in an airtight bag. The frozen bananas not only keep the smoothie cold but when they are blended Β they give the smoothie that thick, creamy, soft serve ice-cream like consistency.... yum!
You can freeze the banana slices for up to 5 months! Β (suggestion- write the date on the airtight bag with permanent texta)
This way whenever you want a smoothie it is just a matter of throwing the frozen bananas in the mixer, adding the other ingredients and away you go.
Chai Spiced Blend
To make this Chai Spiced Smoothie easy, I simply make up a batch of the spices and store it in a airtight jar.... and then it is just a matter of spooning out the spices... rather than measuring out each ingredient each time.
- 2 teaspoons of cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons of cardamon
