With New Years approaching fast and with many people spending time with their friends and family I thought I would share an easy dip recipe that tastes fantastic, can serve lots of peopleΒ and is gluten-free!!
I am not sure I should call it a recipe because it is just a matter of adding layers of ingredients, serving and eating!
This is such a popular dip where ever we go and after just one mouthful, people just hover around this dip. (ok...I am saying this Β with my tongue in cheek... but ...I think this dip has 'magical powers' of getting people together π )Β
My friends call this the Ugly Duckling Dip....no, there is no duck in this dip but.....You know the story of the Ugly Duckling that transforms into a beautiful swan ...well, this dip is just like that ...ok...stick with me here... the dip doesn't look the best, actually all you see is grated cheese but after tasting it, well it just transforms into the best dip you have ever eaten.
So if you want an easy way to entertain on New Years or any other time of the year you should try the Easy Gluten Free 5 layer Dip... and it only tastes a few basic ingredients!
Ingredients forΒ Easy Gluten Free 5 Layer Dip
- 250g of cream cheese - at room temperature
- 125g sour cream
- avocado - mashed
- squeeze of lemon juice
- 200 g jar of tomato salsa
- 100g of shredded ham
- 1 cup of grated parmesan cheese
How to makeΒ Easy Gluten Free 5 Layer Dip!
Layer 1
In a bowl blend together the cream cheese and sour cream to a smooth consistency and spoon onto the base of a pie dish (or similar).
Layer 2
Mash the avocado in a bowl and add in the lemon juice and mix and then spoon over the cream cheese base.
Layer 3
Spoon on a layer of salsa over the avocado.
Layer 4
Sprinkle shredded ham over the salsa.
Layer 5
Top the dip with a generous amount of grated parmesan cheese (or a cheese of your liking) and keep in the fridge until serving.
....and 'ta da!'.....It is now ready to serve with rice crackers of vegetable sticks....easy!!
