This recipe for Gluten Free, Egg Free Chocolate Waffles makes the perfect waffles that areΒ crispy, light and so easy to make!
We recently celebrated my son's birthday and went on a 'Tasting Journey' for the night.
A Tasting Journey is lots of fun...you spend the night going from one restaurant to another and just having one small meal at each restaurant.
We started the night with a traditionalΒ Greek restaurant and had delicious, warm Dolmades drizzled with warm yoghurt sauce. We then went onto a Tapas bar and indulged in stuffed peppers, spicy corn on the cob and meatballs. We then headed to the Sushi Train and had a selection of different sushi including Eel! Then on to a Burrito Bar and we had the very best tacos ever!!...slowed-cooked chicken with fresh salsa. We then ended the night on a high....(with very full tummies πΒ ) and with Belgium Waffles!
The idea of a Tasting Journey is toΒ experience as many cultural foods in one night! Our adventure includedΒ Greek, Spanish, Japanese, Mexican and Belgian!
The best part is that it doesn't cost a lot and you need to make sure you try foods that are just a little different that what you would normally have. We had a great night...actually a fantastic night (Happy Birthday Blake!!)
Since the last stop of the night - Belgium Waffles,Β we have all wanted crispy waffles ever since!! Now I know that waffles are ok soft ...but when they are crispy, warm and topped with fresh, warm berries and melted chocolate ...now that is just devine!!
But the trick was make them at home and they needed to be crispy ...and gluten free...and egg free! (and taste good π )Β
So after a bit of experimenting...(and my family being the testers) they have all voted and this recipe for gluten free, egg free chocolate waffles is the winner!
Best part ...they are really easy to make.

I love that these are gluten free! Waffles are one of my favorite breakfast foods, but I don't eat them often since I try to avoid white flour. These sound awesome!
