DIY Scarf Storage! A great way to store your scarves and to find them easily....and the best part is that it looks great too!!

Being organised in my closet helps me get ready in the morning, to be able to rush out the door on time....
and to find the perfect scarf to finish off an outfit!
But what is the best way to organise and store scarves?....
    DIY Scarf Storage!
So with the weather getting colder, it is time to bring out the scarves.
Last winter my scarves lived in a drawer and that meant each time searching for the one with a pattern, the one with stripes....and where was the red one?
So this year I decided to do it differently.

Of course I had a search on Pinterest and saw lots of great ideas....
Scarves in tubes, scarves on coat hangers and scarves on pegs...
...but I decided to get a bit crafty and see what I had in my home to help with the scarf crisis (not really a crisis but it sounds dramatic, doesn't it 😉
So once again I searched my garage...
...(you would think that my garage is full of all sorts of hidden treasures...but it isn't...it is only a treasure when you find good use for something you have stashed in there ages ago!)

How to make DIY Scarf Storage

So an old, scratchy playground ladder was now going to be transformed into a stylish organiser for my scarves.
(It didn't know it yet, but there was no more children climbing all over this little treasure)

So step-by-step (...this is where I jab you in the ribs and chuckle 😉
    Step 1

    I started with some sanding,

    Step 2

    Then two coats of undercoat,

    Step 3

and two coats of semi-gloss paint ...
and after waiting for the paint to not be 'tacky'
...the ladder was ready to solve my scarf woes!
Just pretty and so easy to see my scarves....the easy DIY Scarf Storage
    Beautiful...isn't it!
...and so useful and easy to get the scarf I want!
Yes...I did fix it to the wall, so it didn't scare the life out of me and fall down in the middle of the night!
Actually when the weather clears up I intend to pack away the winter scarves and use the ladder to store jewellery and with a few 'S' hooks, some baskets to store bits and pieces.
...or escape over the fence when the zombies attack 😉

You must be southern hemisphere if it's getting colder in June - here in the UK we are just starting to warm up!
I love this solution, scarves are often pretty so it's a shame to hide them away. This way you won't forget what you have. Brilliant.
