Pretty Confetti Bowls…

August 12, 2014 By Barb

The easy DIY steps to adding a little bit of personality to a plain bowl and creating a pretty confetti bowl!

Recently, I went to an Asian food store (love looking at all the different types of ingredients you can get there) and came across a heap of small, white bowls and dishes.
The types that would be perfect for holding small trinkets, fine necklaces or petite cupcakes.

The best thing was that they were only $1.40 each…cheap!
So of course I gladly bought a few.
When I got home and had a look, all they needed was a little bit of ‘sparkle’ to make them pretty.

What you need to make a Pretty Confetti Bowl!

All you need to make Pretty Confetti Bowls:

  1. nail polish (a good quality one),
  2. a ceramic plate or bowl,
  3. and some small round stickers that are used to put around folder holes on paper (paper ring eyelets).

How To Make the DIY Pretty Confetti Bowl!

  1. Simply apply the stickers and press down firmly, to make the pattern you like. Rub the centre of each sticker, so the nail polish doesn’t seep through.
  2. TIP– don’t rub too hard around the edges as you still need to be able to remove them.
  3. Paint in the centre of the stickers with nail polish -use the colour you like or even a mixture of colours. If you use a light colour you may need to do two coats.

4. Let the nail polish dry and then remove the little stickers. I used my fingernails to get it started and then they pulled off easily. You could use tweezers if it is a bit tricky.
5.  Once the stickers are removed,  I then go over the spots with a top coat/clear nail polish to add a bit more sparkle and it protects the colour (just like on your nails)

… And then you have the perfect place to keep your delicate and special trinkets!
Gorgeous and all for $1.40!
