    DIY - Petite Trinket Dish!

The easy way to transform and old dish into a DIY - Petite Trinket Dish! All the steps to making a pretty and useful trinket holder!
Finding time for yourself when you are a busy mum, working, doing chores and keeping a home, sometimes is really tricky.
In my world, doing a little bit of baking or crafting, allows me a little of 'my time'!
Each time I walk past this Petite Trinket Dish, I remember how I had an hour to have 'girl time' and I spent it with a coffee ( a chocolate or two 🙂 and I created a gorgeous trinket dish.
...and the best part is.... It cost me nothing!! ...

...just by using some old nail polish and a spare white dish!
This Petite Trinket Dish added a little bit of colour on top of my DIY Baking Station (see post here) and it was really easy to do!

    DIY - Petite Trinket Dish

    Need
    • Nail polishes - I used 3 and one had a shine and glitz to it.
    • 1 chop stick (or a stirring stick)
    • 1 old ice cream container....one that can thrown away into recycling
    • 1 little bowl or dish

    .....and that's it!

    How to do it!

    • Using an old ice cream container, I filled it ¾ with water and then drizzled the nail polish into the water. ( Be in a well ventilated area because nail polish can smell quite strong)
    • I used three different colours but you could use as little or as many as you like.
    • Using a chop stick, I swirled the nail polishes around to give it a marble effect.
    • I then dipped the little dish into the water so the nail polish sticks to the bowl. I dipped a side in at a time, so I could get a different effect. I did add a little more nail polish for the last dip. It does look a little messy at this stage, but once it dries it has a whole different look...marble with a little sparkle!
    • I left mine to dry and popped it in the fridge to set.

    So pretty!
...a perfect place to keep trinkets or just to add a little swirl of colour!

So fun! My daughter has quite a collection of nail polishes, and is very creative, so I'm excited to see what she does with this craft. She is going to LOVE it!

This looks so easy but produces such a wonderful little dish. I'm going to see if I can pick up a little dish and some inexpensive nail polish at the dollar store (I don't want to use my nice polish 'cuz I'm a bit of a hoarder with that stuff...) 🙂 Pinned and tweeted!
