An easy DIY craft and home idea to create a coastal candle from recycled jars and give pretty, candle light to your outdoor area, bathroom or bedroom!
There is nothing better than relaxing in the bath surrounded by candles or having aΒ barbecueΒ outside in the glow of candle light.
I like lots of candles glowing ...it adds to the atmosphere and it gives everyone that little twinkle in their eye.
To make sure that the candles are safe when dining outside and it gets a little breezy, I put my candles into recycled jars....Β (and of course, I make them look a little pretty.....) π
Β
How to make a DIY coastal candle from recycled jars!
Step 1
It is the simplest craft and costs nothing because you simply use the delicious salsa on your nachos or on your steak and wash the jar.
Step 2
Β Then simply wrap some twine/string around the top ensuring that you poke in the ends under the wrapped twine.
The best way to start is to use a hot glue gun and glue one end of the twine, so it doesn't keep moving and then simply wrap around and tuck the end under the wrapped twine.
Step 3
I fill my jars first with crushed glass (that I got from a cheap shop for $2) and add a candle.
To fill the base you could use sand, small pebbles or small jewels (in case you have any spare diamonds laying around Β π )Β
And viola!... You can add plenty of candles to your outdoor dinner table, bathroom, lounge room... and they won't blow out, are stable and cheap! (Well free really ... AND you are recycling- one for the planet!)
... And you can gaze at each other in candle light!Β
A little craft idea that can transform a boring jar into a useful and pretty coastal candle!
Enjoy! π
