Easy Gluten-Free Sweet Potato Pizza Base!
An easy and delicious Gluten-Free Sweet Potato Pizza Base that has no eggs, no yeast, is gluten-free and you can even use a rolling pin to make the perfect pizza base!!
  • 1 cup of frozen Sweet Potato (or the equivalent cooked mashed, sweet potato)
  • 1 tablespoon of black chia seeds
  • 2 tablespoons of cold water
  • 1 cup of gluten-free plain flour
  • ½ cup of almond meal
  1. Pre-heat the oven to 200ºC
  2. Defrost the frozen mashed sweet potato or simply peel, chop and cook a large (750g) sweet potato and then mash.
  3. In a bowl add in the black chia seeds and 2 tablespoons of water and let in sit for 5 mins or until it has thickened.
  4. In a large bowl add in the sweet potato, thickened chia seeds, gluten-free flour, almond meal and combine together until it forms a soft dough.
  5. Using clean hands bring the dough together to form a ball of dough.
  6. Press the dough into a pizza tin or lay the ball of dough onto baking paper and roll out with a rolling pin. then lay onto a baking tray or cut small circles with a scone cutter to make mini pizzas.
  7. Brush with a little olive oil and bake in the oven until the pizza base starts to go a little crispy....about 20mins
  8. Then take out of the oven and add your favourite toppings and put back in the oven until the toppings are just how you like them!!
