An easy and delicious everyday meal - Honey and Soy Chicken ...sticky, crispy and it is gluten free!!
Author: Barb @sparklesintheeveryday
Recipe type: Chicken meal
Ingredients
500g chicken thigh fillets (4 x chicken thigh fillets)
½ teaspoon of minced garlic
½ teaspoon minced ginger
¼ cup gluten free soy sauce
½ tsp sesame oil
2 Tablespoons honey
¼ cup of water
Plus some sesame seeds to decorate
Instructions
Cook some rice to serve with the chicken. I use a rice cooker and add a gluten free chicken stock cube with the water - to give the rice an extra 'chicken' flavour.
Using a wok, lightly grease it and wait for it to heat up.
Add in ½ teaspoon of minced garlic and minced ginger and add the chicken thigh fillets (no need to slice them, just put them in whole)
Add the soy sauce and the water and cook the chicken on one side.
Turn the chicken and cover with a lid, so the soy sauce will be absorbed and the chicken will be moist and cook on the other side.
When it looks like the chicken is cooked and the sauce has been absorbed, take off the lid, add the honey and cook on high heat until the sauce starts to thicken (continue to cook the chicken until the sauce has reduced and it has a sticky, caramel texture)
When it looks like the sauce is sticking to the chicken, remove from the wok, slice and serve with the rice.
so delicious!
