These Gluten Free Quinoa and Tahini Bars are a healthy mixture of tahini, quinoa puffs, nuts and chia seeds that creates delicious 'energy' bars!
My eldest son just raves about these Quinoa and Tahini Bars! He can't get enough! I am happy that he does because I know they are full of healthy supergrains, full of protein and gives him a great healthy boost of energy....and no cooking involved! π
Β He loves the stronger flavour of tahini and the crunch of Quinoa Puffs and chia seeds and yes...they are gluten free too!
Orgran has come out with a new product called Quinoa Puffs and we have be eating them for breakfast (and my teenage sons have them for afternoon snack as well - they call this 'linner' ...the meal between lunch and dinner ... I am sure you understand how kids are starving after school). I am really fine with them tucking into this as a snack because I know it is healthy.
I normally make these bars with almond butter or peanut paste and being a 'good mother', I changed it up to make them even healthier!
Health Benefits of Tahini
Tahini is toasted ground hulled sesame seeds and it is an oily paste similar to peanut paste or almond butter. It has a stronger flavour than peanut paste but has many health benefits. We use Quinoa a lot at home as a side dish with our meals, in salads likeΒ in our Gluten FreeΒ Moroccan Quinoa which we serve with Gluten Free Chicken and Corn Koftas
